Sold to the Douglas Steam Ship Co., Ltd., renamed the Haitan and registered in Hong Kong from 1937-1950. The vessel was scrapped in 1950.
Alec C. Gruchy was a Bowring Brothers' insurance agent in Pouch Cove. He went to the ice on the Silvia in 1928 at the invitation of Bowring Brothers. | Scope and Content: | Photograph of the S.S.
