Adm. Hist/Bio. Sketch: Walter M. Marshall (1905-1981) was an accountant and civil servant. He joined the Commission of Government as a civil servant in 1937. He worked for the Department of Natural Resources and was later secretary to the Department of Finance. During negotiations with Canada in 1948 Marshall worked as financial advisor to the Newfoundland delegation. He was appointed controller and deputy Minister of Finance after Confederation. He retired in 1966.
