Biography/Admin History: The brigantine "W.H. Lattimer," was built in 1875 at Port Medway, Nova Scotia by Obediah Spinney. She was registered on September 15, 1875 and was owned by John Menac, a merchant from Port Medway. She was stranded at St. Mary's Bay, Newfoundland on September 22, 1882 but was restored to the registry at St. John's in 1883. The new owner was Robert Kirby Bishop. The "W.H. Lattimer" was lost at sea somewhere in the North Atlantic on September 1, 1884. Fortunately, the crew was saved.
