Biography/Admin History: The brigantine "Silvia," Official Number 70919, was built in 1875 at Bridport, England by Cox. She was owned by William Davies from Cornwall, England. The "Silvia" was shelled by a U-boat on August 23, 1915, off the coast of Ireland. Her crew managed to escape.
