Biography/Admin History: The brig "Scotia" was built in 1852 at Wheatley River, Prince Edward Island by Archibald McMillan (also the owner). She was registered on October 13, 1852. She was transferred to St. John's, Newfoundland and the new owners were Patrick Tasker, James Tasker, David Tasker, and Andrew Tasker, all merchants from St. John's, Newfoundland and Greenock, Scotland. The registry closed when the "Scotia" was transferred to a new port, Glasgow, Scotland, in 1853.
