Biography/Admin History: Brigantine "Clio," built for John Rorke, of Carbonear in 1894 at Appledore, England by Messers. Cox. Official number 95920, 110 gross tons, schooner, registered at St. John's, Newfoundland #42 in 1894 and owned at that time by Charles Bennett, a merchant of Bristol, England. On her first voyage she took a load of codfish from Labrador to Gibraltar and on her return journey she took a load of salt at Valencia and sailed for Carbonear on November 10, 1895. Never heard from again, she was lost at sea with all hands. Watercolour by Lewis Renault of Leghorn, Italy, 1895.
