Biography/Admin History: The barquentine "Edward Seymour," Official Number 74866, was built in 1876 by Griffith Williams at Portmadoc, Wales. She was owned by Lewis Hughes and his son, Captain Henry Hughes, who became her master. She was lost in 1903 when she became stranded on Anticosti Island in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
