Physical Description: 1 photograph : col. ; 10 x 15 cm
Biography/Admin History: "Gazela Primeiro" (ex "Gazela") - Portuguese wooden fishing schooner, 324 gross tons, built 1901 at J. M. Mendes shipyard in Setubal, Portugal. Registered at Lisbon, Portugal. One of last of Portuguese Grand Banks codfishing fleet, retired 1969. The vessel is was sold to the Philadelphia Maritime Museum in 1971. Since 1988, the Philadelphia Ship Preservation Guild has maintained and operated the vessel, again named "Gazela", which resides in Philadephia to this day.
