The managing owner was George W.S. Gould from Barnstaple, Devon, England. In December, 1910, during a voyage from Fogo, Newfoundland to Gilbraltar, the "Banshee" ran into a storm and suffered severe damages. Repairs were made and she resumed sailing. She was later abandoned at sea while on a voyage from Goole, England to Gilbraltar on January 17, 1914. The schooner "Banshee," Official Number 38200, was built in 1857 in Point Prim, Prince Edward Island. She was owned by Thomas Foley and registered in PEI that same year. Also that year, she was registered again, this time in Newfoundland and was then owned by John Bowring.
