Biography/Admin History: EX "Effie M. Morrissey" Built at Essex, Massachusetts in 1894, schooner, 120 gross tons, registered at St. John's, Newfoundland #30 in 1914, official number 134855, owned by Samuel Bartlett, merchant of Brigus, Conception Bay, Newfoundland at that time. Sold to an owner in the United States in 1933. Skippered by Capt. Robert Bartlett and made many scientific expeditions to the Arctic. In 1988 she made a return trip to Brigus on the 113th anniversary of his birth.
