Photo Title: "St. Malo - la Procession"
Description: St. Malo, France showing the procession for the blessing of the fleet that was to sail to the Newfoundland fishing grounds. Note on the back reads"Established custom of showing the souls of fishermen who would not return from the fishing grounds. St. Malo held an annual 'Pardon' i.e. the blessing of the Newfoundland fishing boats and crews, and the town would be en fete and the French Navy sent destroyers and fishing boats would be decorated.
