Biography/Admin History: "Lady Johnson II" - (ex "Polarbjorn" 1975, ex "Jopeter" 1958, ex "Brategg" 1950) Newfoundland sealing vessel, official number 348704, 591 gross tons, built in 1932 at Trondheim, Norway, registered in St. John's, Newfoundland in 1975 and owned by Johnson Combined Enterprises Limited, Catalina, Newfoundland. Sold and renamed "Beothic Endeavour" in 1988. Sold again and renamed "Arctic Trader" in 1993. The vessel doesn't appear to be registered after 1999.

Frederick Morrissey Johnson was born in Little Catalina, October 21, 1932. At age nine he moved to Catalina to live with his grandfather, and at age 15 went to sea as a deckhand with his father and grandfather. By the time he was 24 he was a ship's captain. His ships would not only go to the seal hunt over the years, but also took part in offshore oil exploration and ocean research. In 1984 he was elected as the MP for Bonavista-Trinity Conception. After an unsuccessful run for re-election in 1988, he returned to the sea and ran a tour boat business out of St. John's harbour. Capt. Johnson was killed in a moose-vehicle accident near Lewisporte Junction, Newfoundland, July 14, 2003.
