Biography/Admin History: R.M.S. "Newfoundland", official number 147312, sister ship of S.S. "Nova Scotia," built 1925 by Vickers Armstrong for the Furness Line. Troop carrier in early World War II, and later used as a hospital vessel. Sunk at Salermo Beach, Sept. 13, 1943, with great loss of life.
