Biography/Admin History:	"Nova Scotia" - Sister ship of the S.S. "Newfoundland," built by Vickers Armstrong at Barrow-in-Furness in 1926, steel, 6,796 gross tons, official number 147363, owned in 1926 by the Warren Line of Liverpool later managed by the Furness Line. Operated as a passenger liner on runs between Liverpool, St. John's, Halifax, Boston, New York and return. In 1941 she was requisitioned for direct war service and was used chiefly as a troop carrier. She was sunk 28 November 1942 by an enemy submarine off Mozambique, North Africa while carrying Italian prisoners of war from East Africa to internment in allied countries. There was great loss of life.
