Biography/Admin History: Spencer G. Lake (1916- ), son of Sarah Valetta (Spencer) Lake and Harold Bertram Clyde Lake, who was a businessman and politician and founder of the firm H.B. Clyde Lake, was born in Fortune, Newfoundland. He first married Alma Diamond, and later married Margaret Penny. He joined the family fish processing and exporting business and for several years he and his brother, Harold L. Lake, ran the Lake Group of Companies. Shortly after the company had been reorganized as the Lake Group, a restructuring of the industry took place and in 1984 its plants were acquired by Fishery Products International. Lake later moved to Boston.
