Biography/Admin History: | The S.S. "Springdale" (O.N. 178558) was built in 1948 by Fleming and Ferguson of Scotland and sold to the Newfoundland Railway in the same year. It was used first by the Railway and later by Canadian National as a coastal vessel in Newfoundland. It was taken out of service and sold for scrap in 1973. The S.S. "Bar Haven" was built by Fleming & Ferguson, Paisley, Scotland in 1948, official number 178566, 1138 gross tons, owned by the Minister of Transport, Ottawa and registered at St. John's, Newfoundland in 1951. Sold for scrap in 1974. |
