The ITS Security Team is available to assist with the following IT security concerns:

  • Laptop Full Disk Encryption (FDE) - Full disk encryption is available for both Windows and Mac laptops, and is required by University policy
  • Firewall Requests - ITS operates perimeter (Internet/CA*net4) and select internal firewall services on behalf of main campus St. John's. Please contact the ITS Service Desk if you wish to make a service of yours Internet-accessible, or if you have other access control concerns.
  • Vulnerability Assessments - IT Security staff can examine servers for outdated software, missing patches, misconfigurations, and insecurely written applications. The system's security can then be improved by addressing any shortcomings identified.

  • Incident Response - Please immediately contact the ITS Service Desk if you suspect a virus infection or any other sort of IT security incident. For further information re helpful steps you can take, please refer to the University’s Procedure for Reporting Suspected Security Incidents.

  • Security Consulting - Security concerns are best addressed early. Please contact us if you are implementing a new or upgrading an existing IT-based service, or if you have any other IT security concerns you would like to discuss.

  • Privacy - for items relating to Access to Information and Privacy Protection (ATIPPA) and Memorial's Privacy Policy, please visit the IAP website.
