Admission

Step one is to apply to Memorial University for general admission:

Once you’ve been accepted to Memorial, you are eligible to explore business at Grenfell Campus, and you may enroll in any BUSN course where you have met prerequisite requirements and where class enrollment limits permit.

If you choose to pursue one the programs offered through Grenfell Business, you must also complete a Declaration of Academic Program.

Programs

Grenfell Business delivers the following programs:

Bachelor of Business Administration

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree program requires the completion of 120 credit hours (40 courses), typically completed over 4 or 5 years of full-time study, or a longer period of part-time study.

To graduate with your BBA degree, you must achieve a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 and an overall average of at least 60% on the 120 credit hours specified for the degree (which you can check out in our section of the University Calendar).

Grenfell BBA students are not required to complete a minor program; however, you may choose to pursue a minor program if you wish. If this is an option you’re interested, in you should contact the academic unit offering the minor program for academic advice.

As a BBA student, you are responsible to monitor your academic progress and ensure you are meeting program requirements, but we are here to help! One of the most helpful tools in helping you plan and stay on track is your BBA Program Guide, which you should download and update each term.

Reach out to us at gcbusiness@mun.ca to get started on or update your individual program plan, but for an idea of how your full-time study plan could look, please check out at the suggested course completion sequence that follows.

Not everyone is able to commit to a business degree program, but you may still have an interest in further exploration of the field of entrepreneurship in general, or you are an experienced or aspiring entrepreneur who would like to develop their academic skills and knowledge in entrepreneurship and marketing to support their own entrepreneurial endeavours—the Certificate in Entrepreneurship could be a perfect fit for you!

This program may be completed as a standalone program, or to non-business major students at Memorial who are studying in other Memorial University programs.

Specifically, the Certificate in Entrepreneurship program requires the completion of 18 credit (6 courses) hours as follows:

  • BUSN 1010 Introduction to Business
  • BUSN 1020 Introduction to Entrepreneurship
  • BUSN 2105 Accounting for Non-Business Students
  • BUSN 2251 Introduction to Marketing

Current Memorial University students who wish to complete the Certificate in Entrepreneurship must apply to the program by selecting the Certificate in Entrepreneurship on the Declaration/Change Academic Program (Grenfell Campus) form available from the Office of the Registrar; non-Memorial students must first apply for admission to the University.

Students interested in learning about graduate-level programming in management are invited to explore our fully online Master of Management program.

Students should consult the Business Administration section of Memorial University Calendar for the most up-to-date program regulations. In the event of any discrepancy in program information presented here and the University Calendar, the Calendar regulations should be considered the official statement on regulations.
