Year End March 2024
As fiscal year end fast approaches it is important that all financial and accounting information is processed in a timely and efficient manner. In order to ensure that this process flows as smoothly as possible, Financial and Administrative Services has developed the attached Year End Memo March 31, 2024 to assist you in planning for year end. The guide outlines the various Financial Services requirements and the required deadline dates.
Changes to purchasing policy
Memorial is amending the university’s purchasing policy to align the procurement thresholds with Public Procurement Regulations and is adapting the preferred approach when procuring a commodity below the procurement thresholds stated in the regulations.
St. John’s campus Cashier’s Office temporarily relocated
Due to ongoing work to correct damage from a water leak in the Arts and Administration building, the Cashier’s Office is temporarily moving to A1004A and will be open for in person service after 2 p.m. on Jan. 9.
Change of per diem rates for northern and international destinations
The Board of Regents, at a meeting held on Oct. 18, 2023, approved use of the Federal Treasury Board's National Joint Council travel allowances (appendix C) for travel to the Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Alaska.
At the same time, the board also approved the use of the Federal Treasury Board's National Joint Council travel allowances (appendix D) for travel to international destinations.
