Additional Program Information
In order to increase the learning potential for students in the ELSS program, all students must sign a pledge promising to use only English during the program (excluding correspondence with family members).
Students who wish to have a conversation partner for extra one-to-one practice will be matched with a student from Memorial University, subject to availability. This is a wonderful opportunity to make new friends!
Students will get to experience Newfoundland through guided excursions, including whale watching, tours of historic sites, and walks through wildflife parks. Additionally, students will attend workshops on a variety of cultural activities, including Newfoundland music, art, and dance. Students will also produce their choice of a video, music, newsletter or other type of media. Examples of student projects from last year can be found on the ELSS Project Page.
