Memorial Baja Team

Memorial Baja is a group of thirteen Memorial University students working together to meet the various demands encountered in building an off-road racing vehicle. From marketing to advanced engineering design, students are challenged and ultimately brought together in a positive learning experience.

Paradigm Hyperloop

Paradigm Hyperloop consists of students from the Northeastern University, Memorial University of Newfoundland, and the College of the North Atlantic. Their main goal is to build a prototype Hyperloop pod to test whether air based levitation can be applied in high-speed applications. The pod can reach a maximum speed of 400mph. Hyperloop is defined as a fifth mode of transportation where high-speed capsules are levitated and traveled through low-pressure vacuum tubes. This concept was introduced by Elon Musk in 2013 to provide an alternate mode of transportation that is cheaper, more efficient, and more sustainable. Student teams are challenged to design the Hyperloop test vehicle in the SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition. The winner gets to perform a high speed run in the SpaceX HyperTube located in Hawthrone, California.
