Ph.D. Thesis Title: Paleobiology and sedimentological context of Vinlandia and
related taxa

Supervisor(s): Dr. Duncan Mcllroy and Dr. Rod Taylor

I conducted my undergraduate studies at three different universities in Europe. I started my academic career at Maastricht University (Maastricht, The Netherlands) in the year 2012. After having completed the first year of the MSC (Maastricht Science College) program in the year 2013, I decided to move to Madrid, Spain, where I enrolled in a four-year bachelors program in Biology at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). During the third year of my Bachelor program, I was awarded a scholarship to study at the University College of Southeast Norway (Bø i Telemark, Norway). I graduated as a biologist in the year 2018.

I conducted my graduate studies at Universiteit van Amsterdam / University of Amsterdam (UvA) (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) during 2018-2020. During my masters, I carried out two internships and their subsequent research projects at the Institute for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Dynamics (IBED). I specialized in experimental evolution, geological deep-time reconstruction linked to biodiversity patterns, ecosystem and climate dynamics as well as in data analysis and programming. When I graduated I was named an eligible participant to run for the East-West Seed Afstudeerprijs voor Plantenwetenschappen contest. I run for best Plant Science thesis of the year in the field of paleobotany, awarded by The Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities (KHMW).

I worked in the field in Myanmar (SE Asia) researching on the Eocene-Oligocene Transition (EOT) as a member of the Myanmar Paleoclimate and Geodynamics Research Group (MyaPGR); in close collaboration with the MAGIC (Monsoons of Aisa caused Greenhouse to Icehouse Cooling) European research initiative (http://www.paleoenvironment.eu).
