About The Centre

The Centre for Language Testing and Certification (DELF Centre) is an accredited examination centre for the DELF.

The activities of the centre include DELF/DALF examination administration, test preparation courses and professional development opportunities for teachers of French as a second language.

The Centre for Language Testing and certification (DELF Centre) is an initiative of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures, and Cultures. Memorial University has received funding for the DELF Centre project from the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Agreement on Minority Language Education and Second Official Language Instruction.

The Centre has a network of certified DELF DALF examiners who work with the Centre to offer the DELF examination sessions as they are scheduled on the Canadian calendar. This includes the DELF Tout Public and the DELF Scolaire/Junior. All examination sessions are open to the general public as well as to students.

The Centre provides opportunities for French second language educators to become certified examiners/markers of the DELF.

Professional learning sessions on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL) are also available through the Centre.

 Test d’évaluation de français (TEF)

The Centre is accredited to offer the Test d’évaluation de français (TEF)

Candidates who are interested in writing the TEF Canada can contact the Centre to arrange for an examintion time.

Some information on the TEF Canada:

Dans le cadre des procédures d’immigration et de demande de citoyenneté, le gouvernement fédéral du Canada demande d’attester de ses connaissances linguistiques en français.Immigration, Réfugiés et Citoyenneté Canada reconnaît pour ces démarches le TEF depuis 2002. Le format du TEF qui convient à ces démarches est le TEF Canada.

Dans le cadre d’une demande d’immigration vers le Canada, vous devez passer les épreuves suivantes : Compréhension orale; Compréhension écrite; Expression orale; Expression écrite.

Dans le cadre d’une demande de citoyenneté canadienne, vous devez passer les épreuves suivantes : Compréhension orale : 40 min – 60 questionsExpression orale : 15 min – 2 sujets à traiter.
