Terms of Reference
The IT Student Services Advisory Committee (ITSSAC) shall serve as an advisory committee for the Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Centre for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL), and Memorial Libraries. It provides a forum for effective dialogue between students and the IT service providers at Memorial.
Functions & Responsibilities
- Assess and recommend improvements to current IT services and provide feedback on new or potential IT services;
- Bring forth concerns or suggest ions on IT services from individual experiences and the larger student body; and
- Provide support for larger consultations of the student body regarding IT services.
The membership of this Committee shall include 15 students from Memorial. The sponsoring units (Office of the CIO, CITL and Memorial Libraries) will be responsible for soliciting membership from departments/organizations, as well as from the larger student body. The sponsoring units will strive to ensure representation from a diverse set of student backgrounds and experiences.
Student Advisory Committee members shall hold terms of 1 or 2 academic years.
The ITSSAC shall be chaired by the Manager, IT Student Services.
The ITSSAC will strive to meet monthly on Wednesdays from 1:00pm to 2:00pm in the Fall & Winter semesters.
Agendas will be prepared by the chair.
Minutes will be taken by the Manager, IT Student Services at all meetings and will include a summary of major issues discussed.
