NSSE 2020
NSSE 2020 was administered online to 73 Canadian Institutions during the winter 2020 semester. Sampled students were required to be enrolled in both fall 2019 and winter 2020 semesters.
Administration Summary
Memorial University surveyed 2,561 "First-year" and 1,971 "Senior" students. In total, 1,060 First-year respondents (41%) and 645 Senior respondents (33%) responded to the survey, representing the highest response rates for the University to date in both categories and above national averages.
Important note: This survey was administered during a unique semester. The university was closed for a week in January due to a snow storm and then closed in mid-March due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The final email reminder for NSSE was sent on March 10, and only 31 responses were recorded on or after March 15, the date students were notidifed of the campus shutdown.

Several questions can be considered "culminating" or "overall" experience questions. These are a good barometer of respondent satisfaction. Results from 2020 are as follows.
The Five benchmarks of Effective Educational Practice from 2011 were replaced with 4 major themes, each with their own set of engagement indicator scales. This means that comparisons with 2008 and 2011 results are not really possible given the new paradigm. Explanations for each indicator can be found in the following report and here. This will also detail each of the questions used to make up the scale.
