Studying at Memorial

Each year, more than 100 international students study business at Memorial, where our international learning environment fully integrates them into our unique culture.

Students enjoy one-on-one interaction with faculty members and modern learning facilities including the White Trading lab – a state-of-the-art financial management facility equipped with Bloomberg terminals – and one of the best university libraries in Canada. All of our undergraduate programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) – the highest distinction a business school can achieve worldwide.

Our staff provide assistance with everything from course registration to academic advising and are able to answer any questions you may have. We are always happy to meet our international students and learn more about their cultures!

University Regulations
The University Calendar is an important document that includes university regulations, such as information on the scheduling of particular periods of instruction, courses or programs, the academic program of the university, fees and charges, as well as important dates and deadlines.

All business courses offered at Memorial begin with the four-letter code BUSI. The numerical code after BUSI will typically indicate the course’s study level (i.e. a course beginning with BUSI 1XXX is taught at a lower academic level than a course beginning with BUSI 5XXX).

Undergraduate/bachelor-level courses are those listed from BUSI 1000-BUSI 7999. Courses better suited to students completing graduate/masters-level programs have the codes BUSI 8000+.

The maximum course load is five courses (15 credit hours) per semester. Business exchange students must take at least 50% of their courses from the Faculty of Business Administration (i.e. three out of five courses).
Please note:

  • Five Memorial courses (i.e. full course load) = 15 Memorial credit hours = 30 ECTS
  • Three Memorial credits (i.e. one course) = 6 ECTS
