Seniors on the Go 2019

All seniors are welcome to join us for a day of FREE talks, walks, booths, and can enjoy the beauty of MUN Botanical Garden.

Schedule of Events:

Ongoing throughout 10am - 4pm:

 Booth Fair featuring: Canadian Association for Retired Persons (CARP); Friends of MUN Botanical Garden (FOG); Newfoundland Horticultural Society; Seniors NL; City of St. John's; and the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB). Please BYOB - Bring Your Own (reuseable) Bag to collect information and materials from the booths.Trails

Free admission to visit the beautiful flower gardens, and over 4Km of walking trails

Fall Flowers10 - 11am: Join Tim Walsh, MUN Botanical Garden Nursery Manager in Falling for Fall Flowers while Preparing the Garden For Winter.  Talk located in the Conference Room.  After his talk you are welcome to tag along for a guided walk of the flower gardens.

Mary Browns11am - 2pm: Enjoy a FREE lunch of Mary Browns*. Pre-registration for one of four time-slots is required for lunch. Lunch is limited to 150 guests. The meal incudes two pieces of chicken, a small coleslaw, a small macaroni salad, and a small potato salad. The Garden will also be providing water and lemonade to drink.  Please register for lunch HERE.

Sensory Garden2 - 3pm: Join Todd Boland, MUN Botanical Garden Horticulturist, to learn how to create your own Sensory Garden. Talk located in the Conference Room. After his talk, join him in the gardens to see some of the featured plants.



As our parking lot is small please carpool if possible.  We have overflow parking lots across the road from the main field centre, and extra parking behind the MUN Research facilities up the hill across from the Garden.
