The Botanical Garden will be hosting Children's Birthday Parties this spring and summer.

Choose from our 3 Botanical Birthday Themes:

Young Explorers (Age 1-3 )

Enjoy a Garden tour and engage your guests with their natural environment with our Young Explorers birthday party! This party begins with one hour of Interpretive Parent-Tot programming that involves both parents and their children in an interactive outdoor experience, consisting of educational games and songs, storytime, and feeding the ducks. The route is stroller-accessible. During the second hour, guests will have access to your choice of an outdoor space (weather permitting) with seating or our indoor "Nature Nook" Party Room to enjoy their food and have time for free-play.

Enchanted Forest Fun! (Age 4+)

Gnomes and fairies and trolls… Oh my! Explore the magic of nature with the Botanical Garden’s Enchanted Forest birthday party. This party begins with one hour of Interpretive exploration that takes guests on an interactive tour of the Garden and trails, consisting of outdoor games and a creative activity of either crafting a flower crown or planting your very own special plant to take home. During the second hour, guests will have access to an outdoor space (weather permitting) with seating or our indoor "Nature Nook" Party Room to enjoy their food and have time for free-play.

Eco-Exploration (Age 4+)

Embark on a trailblazing adventure to become an Eco-Explorer with our Eco-Exploration birthday party! This program begins with a one hour Interpretive expedition that takes guests on an interactive tour of the Garden and trails, focusing on identifying animal habitats and tracks and Geocaching, complete with a creative activity of nursing your very own plant to take home. During the second hour, guests will have access to an outdoor space (weather permitting) with seating or our indoor "Nature Nook" Party Room to enjoy their food and have time for free-play.

Cost

Our Botanical Birthdays cost $150 +HST for 1 hour of outdoor interpretive programming and activities followed by a 1 hour outdoor space or indoor room rental. Your party may include up to 20 guests (children & adults) and must consist of 5 "bubbles" or LESS.

Available Times:

We can offer bookings on any day of the week during our regular hours (10:00 am-4:00 pm). On Thursdays throughout July and August, we also offer a later slot at 4:30 pm-6:30 pm. Due to other bookings and events at the Garden, please email us if you have a specific date and time in mind and we will do our best to accommodate your request!

How to Book:

We ask that you email us at bgprograms@mun.ca with the date and time slot that you would like to book. We will confirm that date with you and then proceed to send you an event form to complete. As of right now, we are not taking bookings for Fall.

Q&A

Do you provide the food & supplies?
No, it is up to the party host to arrange food, plates, utensils, cups, napkins etc. for your guests. Your party room will have quick access to our main parking lot if you will be getting something delivered. Fridge space might be available- please confirm with your booking representative.

What does the MUN Botanical Garden provide?

• 1 hour of Interpretive Programming and activities
• Access to your choice of an indoor or outdoor party space that is sanitized
• Fridge space (please confirm with your booking representative)
• Free downloadable party invitations
• Duckfeed packaged individually for each child to feed our ducks
• Materials for a take-home craft
• A complimentary return pass for the Guest of Honour and their family

Can I decorate the room? 
Yes! You may use any non-permanent decorations of your liking (i.e. no thumb tacks, no duct tape, etc.).  You will have 30 minutes ahead of your party booking time to decorate and 30 minutes afterwards to have everything cleaned up. Guests are responsible for cleaning their space and putting any garbage, recycling, or compost in the designated bins, though Botanical Garden staff will be responsible for disposing of that waste and sanitizing the space. No waste may be left outdoors.

Please also NOTE: Smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages on MUN Botanical Garden property is not permitted.
