Termination of polypeptide elongation

A Release Factor attaches to the Stop Codon. In the absence of a new tRNA, the polypeptide is clipped from the last tRNA. Other release factors cause release of the last, uncharged tRNA from the ribosome. The LSU and SSU of the ribosome separate.
