Nucleotide = nucleoside + phosphate

    A nucleotide is a nucleoside monophosphate. The 9-C of adenine base is added to the 1-C of deoxyribose, to produce the nucleoside Deoxyadenylic acid. The nucleotide is formed by addition of the monophospate to the projecting 5’-carbon of the sugar.

    The other three Nucleotides are formed in an analogous way.
