Homology of forelimbs

Forelimbs of these four vertebrate types are homologous: an exact structural & evolutionary equivalence between the main elements can be shown [colors], although their functions may differ. For example, the tarsal bones (light brown) are adapted for grasping, running, swimming, and flying in the four taxa shown.
