Martha Chase & Alfred Hershey (1953)

At the time of their experiment, Martha Chase had just graduated with a degree in Biology, and was working in Alfred Hershey's lab as her first job. Hershey went on to share the Nobel Prize for his work on phage genetics; Chase later earned a Ph.D. in Genetics.
