The Memorial University Archaeology Department field school will take place at L’Anse aux Meadows from 30th June to 23rd July 2023.
This is a residential field school where we will be based in St. Lunaire and Griquet for the three-week duration of the course. Participants will take part in archaeological activities in the classroom, field, and lab, including archaeological excavation and environmental archaeological analysis. University students will receive credit for two courses at Memorial University: ARCH 3585 and ARCH 3586. ARCH 2583 taught during the intersession (8th May and 16th June) is a prerequisite for enrolling in this course.
Participants in the Field school will develop skills valuable to the practice of archaeology, environmental archaeology, sciences, and social sciences through the study of place and heritage.
In total there are ten spots available.
