Alciato's Book of EmblemsEmblem 96 Against the garrulous and gluttonous man It bellows with a wild cry, its stomach is grotesquely large, and instead of a beak it has a nose, a trumpet of many holes. A deformed ranter, addicted to his stomach and his gullet - so a bird will signify when it is depicted as a pelican.
