Online Tutoring
If you live near enough to campus to do so, we urge you to come to the Writing Centre with your questions and concerns - we strongly feel that we can best help you with your writing in person. This confidential online service is tailored to cater to the needs of those who are unable to visit us in person.
We respond to submissions as thoroughly and as promptly as possible. As is true of in-person tutoring sessions, we will neither change what you have written nor edit your work for you. What we will do is try to help you develop strategies with which you can assess, revise, and edit your own work.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
- We are given ONE HOUR to read and respond to each online request. This is usually enough time to review a 5-page paper. For longer papers, please specify what you would like us to examine more closely.
- Depending on the length of your submission and the number of concerns, we may not be able to address everything in one session.
- It can take up to two full business days for each reply (i.e., a draft emailed on a Friday afternoon might not receive a response until Tuesday of the next week).
- An exchange of email messages over a number of days may be
necessary to address all your concerns.We urge you to begin working
with us well in advance of your assignment’s due
date!
