The Vice-Presidents Council is the senior administrative committee of the university. It is a decision-making body with responsibility for pan-university operations and affairs, for matters that cross over vice-presidential portfolios, and for making recommendations to the president on matters within his or her sole authority.
Water quality at Memorial University
The health and safety of our employees, students and visitors are paramount. Based on elevated levels of lead found in the drinking water of two buildings on Memorial’s St. John’s campus, the university was closed on July 31 and Aug. 1. A safe, adequate supply of water is now available for students, faculty, staff and visitors and as a result, the main St. John's campus is open. As work progresses to determine the source of the issue, updates will be posted on this site.
2015-16 Budget Planning and Approval Process
VPC is responsible for preparing the university's budget proposal for presentation to the Board of Regents at its July meeting. VPC is committed to consulting with members of Deans Council and the Senior Academic Administrators Group, and to ensuring that all possible options to meet current budget requirements are explored and the impacts of each proposal thoroughly examined. One of the primary mechanisms for that is through the Senate’s Budget and Planning Committee. As they become available, materials related to the 2015-16 budget process will be posted here. The Vice-Presidents Council (VPC) is working to address the serious and complex budgetary challenges facing Memorial University. As this important work continues, VPC is committed to listening to the questions and concerns of the university community and sharing information whenever possible.
