Employment Opportunities

By finding a job during your studies at Memorial, you can build your resume, gain hands-on experience and earn some extra spending money. Some degree programs also offer co-operative work placements for students to help fuse academic knowledge with practical experience. Student can also enhance their employability through our Professional Skills Developement Program

Working on-campus

To find an on-campus job, students can take advantage of the Memorial Undergraduate Career Experience Program (MUCEP). Through this program students can work either 40 or 80 hours per semester at one of our participating faculties or departments.

Students can also take advantage of the International Student Work Experience Program (ISWEP). ISWEP is similar to the MUCEP program but is designed exclusively for international students. Check out the Internationalization Office for more information on the on campus job programs that are available to you.

Additionally, job openings may be available through the library, campus food services, housing, and other operations on campus. For more information and a list of job postings, visit our Career Development and Experiential Learning Centre.

Working off-campus

International students are permitted to work off-campus for up to 20 hours per week during a regular academic session and full-time during regularly scheduled breaks. For more information on your ability to work as an international student in Canada, visit the Government of Canada website.
