General Admission Requirements

Credential

General Certificate of Secondary Education (Shehaadat al-thaanawiya al-'aama) or Qatar Senior School Certificate

 

Required Subject Areas

  1. English
  2. Mathematics*
  3. Laboratory Science* (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)
  4. Social Studies or Modern/Classical Language
  5. Elective

*Students who are missing an eligible mathematics or laboratory science course, who apply for admission to a program that does not require completion of these courses, will be considered for general admission. In this case, an eligible course in subject groups 1 to 4 may be used to substitute the missing course. Students who are missing eligible courses in two subject areas should contact international_registrar@mun.ca.

 

General Admission Criteria

Overall average of 4.00 in the required subject areas.

Admission to some programs is competitive for a limited number of spaces. A higher admission average and/or supplementary information may be required as part of the faculty-specific admissions. For further details, refer to the supplementary application forms and documents page.

If you are currently in high school

When you complete your examinations (final decision)
  • Certified translation of General Certificate of Secondary Education and a certified copy of the original native-language document or Qatar Senior School Certificate sent by post or courier by the school attended or the Supreme Education Council.

 

If you have completed high school and not attended a post-secondary institution

  • Certified translation of General Certificate of Secondary Education and a certified copy of the original native-language document or Qatar Senior School Certificate sent by post or courier by the school attended or the Supreme Education Council.
  • Proof of English language proficiency through a standardized test.
  • Supplementary application form and documents for your faculty, school or program.

 

If you have attended a post-secondary institution

 

Submitting Your Documents

Official documents will only be considered official when received by post or courier directly from the issuing school/institution in a sealed envelope.

Certified translations of official documents will only be considered official when received by post or courier.
