General Admission Requirements

Credential

Bachiller en Ciencias y Letras and completion of at least one year of study at a recognized Junior College, College or University.

 

Required Subject Areas

  1. English
  2. Mathematics*
  3. Laboratory Science* (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)
  4. Social Studies or Modern/Classical Language
  5. Elective

*Students who are missing an eligible mathematics or laboratory science course, who apply for admission to a program that does not require completion of these courses, will be considered for general admission. In this case, an eligible course in subject groups 1 to 4 may be used to substitute the missing course. Students who are missing eligible courses in two subject areas should contact international_registrar@mun.ca.

 

General Admission Criteria

Admission average
  • Minimum grade of 4 or 80% in the required subject areas at the Secondary level and successful completion of at least one year of study at a recognized Junior College, College or University.
English proficiency
Competitive program entry (if applicable)
  • Admission to some programs is competitive for a limited number of spaces. A higher admission average and/or supplementary information may be required as part of the faculty-specific admissions. For further details, refer to the supplementary application forms and documents page.

 

Supporting Documents Required

If you are currently enrolled at a post-secondary institution

When you apply (early decision)
  • Certified translation of your official final Bachiller certificate including a certified copy of the original language document and a current, interim post-secondary transcript. Documents can be official or unofficial.
  • Official English proficiency test result sent directly from the testing authority.
  • Supplementary application form and documents for your faculty, school or program.
  • For more information regarding transferring to Memorial, please refer to the Office of the Registrar's information for transfer students.
When you complete your examinations (final decision)
  • Certified translation of your official final Bachiller certificate and a certified copy of the original language document and an official transcript sent directly from the Junior College, College or University by post or courier.

 

If you have attended a post-secondary institution, but are not currently enrolled

  • Certified translation of your official final Bachiller certificate including a certified copy of the original language document and an official transcript sent directly from the Junior College, College or University by post or courier.
  • Official English proficiency test result sent directly from the testing authority.
