Enter Memorial University on the right foot by getting acquainted with fellow mature students at Mature Student Orientation, an undertaking of Students Older Than Average (SOTA) and Students Affairs and Services.
At SOTA we focus on the addition of university life to a life already full of daily activities and challenges. Whether these challenges consist of a career, an established family life, or a complete change in direction, chances are we have an affiliate who has experienced or is experiencing the same struggle.

The first few weeks at MUN can be very intimidating. Unlike students coming to MUN from high school, you may not see anyone you know in your classes. It may have been a long time since you’ve picked up a book for studying purposes. At SOTA we want to erase the possibility of feeling isolated, we want you to mingle with your peers and to know you are not alone.
In conjunction with Student Affairs and Services, we offer a two-day orientation to acquaint you with the campus, arm you with time management and study skills, and show you first hand how much fun university life can be. It is a great way to meet people of your own experience level, as well as to mingle with your fellow first year students.
