Convocation Awards

Convocation medals and awards are given at the Spring Convocation each year; however students who graduated in the previous Fall Convocation may be considered for these awards. The "scholarship year" shall be defined as "May 1-April 30". The following award and medal are presented at Convocation annually:

Newfoundland & Labrador Association of Social Workers' (NLASW) Student Award
The NLASW presents this award annually to a graduating BSW student selected by the NLASW in consultation with the School of Social Work. This award shall be given to a graduating BSW student who has demonstrated a high level of practice competence during both field placements and a commitment to the profession, as illustrated by active participation in professionally-related activities and organizations during the period of social work education.

University Medal for Academic Excellence in Social Work
The University Medal for Academic Excellence in Social Work is given to a BSW student at convocation upon the recommendation of the Dean of social work.
