Joyce holds Bachelor degrees in Education and Arts from Memorial University, as well as a Master of Education degree (Curriculum and Instruction) from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. She is an experienced educator having served as a teacher, curriculum consultant, and school and district-level administrator throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. Her life-long passion for education has, in recent years, led her back to Memorial University and the field of higher education where, for the past five years, she has worked with Distance Education, Learning and Teaching Support (DELTS) as a teaching consultant and Manager (Acting) of its Instructional Development Office.
No stranger to the School of Social Work, Joyce has been collaborating with faculty members for the past several years as a teaching consultant and Faculty Learning Community facilitator. In her current role as teaching consultant and accreditation coordinator for the School of Social Work she provides support to the school’s administration and school community to promote excellence in social work education and the ongoing quality enhancement of social work curriculum and pedagogy.
