Joint Training For Social Workers and Police

The school has been working collaboratively with the Department of Child, Youth and Family Services, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary since 1993 to provide joint training for social workers and police officers in the investigation of child sexual abuse. More recently over the last several years, joint training has been provided for social workers and police officers in the area of family violence. Approximately 120 social workers and police officers have been trained to offer these courses and 1200 social workers and police have been trained to date.
