Work Experience in Social Enterprise
The Centre for Social Enterprise aims to place motivated and talented undergraduate students with social enterprises in Newfoundland and Labrador. Students will assist on specially-designed social enterprise-related projects, specifically designed to meet needs of the partner community organization in exchange for experience that helps the students hone their skills and explore future career paths.
The program enables undergraduate students to develop their skills and expand their resume with structured, paid positions that offer meaningful, career-related experience within their communities. The placements in social enterprise provide exposure to community needs, opportunities to develop a deeper understanding of community issues and hands on experience in real-life social enterprise work environments. The program also emphasizes ongoing reflection and personal development.
The Centre is innovating through part-time paid work placements which bring students of different disciplines to work together in the same organization on the same project. This collaborative approach aims to develop the students as future community leaders, while delivering additional capacity to the partners in the community.
