“Newfoundland and Labrador has a long history of employing resourcefulness and business tools to address social challenges, starting with co-ops in the early 20th century and, more recently, social enterprises. The Centre for Social Enterprise is building on this proud tradition by leveraging Memorial University’s strengths in teaching, research and community engagement to catalyze social change. Led by Nicole Helwig and her team, and supported by enthusiastic partners in all sectors, the Centre for Social Enterprise is building bridges across the province and opening up innovative ways to address the environmental, social and economic challenges that we all face together.”
