Allan Wolfrum Abstract

The application of geophysical prospection within archaeology is decades old, and its ability to uncover the unknown (and oftentimes unseen) is unparalleled. Utilizing both magnetometery and ground-penetrating radar, I hope to discover precontact features associated with Intermediate Period hunter-gatherer groups in central Labrador. This type of archaeological survey is non-invasive, and has the power to elucidate archaeological materials without the disturbance or destruction of sensitive resources. My goal is to further this type of survey in Labrador by proving its efficiency financially and in its ability to uncover hidden features.
