Memorial University launches new graduate studies website

The School of Graduate Studies has launched a new recruitment-focused microsite with help from the Division of Marketing & Communications and Computing & Communications.

Some highlights of the Become a Graduate Student site include:

  • More detailed program information including benefits
  • A breakdown of graduate funding and fees by program and cost of living in St. John’s
  • Profiles of some of our outstanding graduate students and faculty
  • Selling points for St. John’s as a place to live and Memorial as a place to carry out research
  • Real-time chat for prospective students
  • Condensed (but expandable) online application instructions
  • Targeted information for international prospects
  • An inquiry form that will funnel all prospective inquiries through SGS, and enable us to track correspondence with units and measure such things as number of inquiries, average time for response, etc.
  • A new look and feel that will match an upcoming national offline marketing campaign to generate interest in the new website and SGS
  • User-generated email referrals

Some future plans include:

  • Dean’s blog
  • Addition of video content
  • Integration with social networking tools on the web
  • Email marketing tied to the web
  • Contact management system to support online inquiry form
