This is a new mentoring program implemented by Seabright Corporation to facilitate the growth and development of the Information Technology Sector in Newfoundland and Labrador. It's goal is to provide small technology businesses with support in the following areas:
Background
The ON-LINE Task Force proposed as part of its development plan for the Information Technology Sector, mentoring/counselling program entitled 'Innovations 2000.' The program focused on three areas - business planning, sourcing experienced personnel and securing investment capital. The mentoring program budgeted at $1.5 million over 5 years, was subsequently authorized under the Economic Renewal Agreement.Seabright Corporation recently established the Genesis Centre as a support network to help Newfoundland and Labrador knowledge-based businesses and entrepreneurs create growth enterprises. The support network includes access to the marketing, finance and management expertise of world class mentors as well as access to the multi-disciplinary expertise resident at Memorial University.Given the congruent under lying philosophy and inherent operational efficiencies, ON-LINE proposed to contract Seabright to deliver its Mentoring program, renamed - Operation Mentor.
