Accessing the NMR 500

Time should always be booked on the scheduler before starting experiments on the NMR 500. Please, allow enough time in your booking for lock, tune and shiming. Booking time is available by slots of 10 minutes. This doesn't mean that 10 minutes are enough to run one sample, but it is set this way to give you the flexibility to book the time the most fitted to your experiments.

Rules

The instrument is bookable 24h a day, 7 day a week.

You can only start using the instrument at the time you have booked.

You must finish your experiment (and have your sample off) by the end of your booking. There will be no tolerance for running late on someone else's time.

You cannot use someone else's time to run your experiment. This includes your co-workers.

Remember to cancel your booking if you cannot use the instrument. Cancellations are accepted until your booking starts.

The non-respect of any of the above rules may result in a suspension of your user privileges.

Variable temperature

For variable temperature experiments, you should consult with Dr. Celine Schneider prior booking. VT experiments are only allowed during open lab hours and when Dr. Schneider is present.

Open Lab Hours

The doors of the lab are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (4:30 p.m. in the summer) on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Basic maintenance is performed every Tuesday morning until 10 a.m. and the lab is closed during that time. Exceptional lab closure will be announced on the scheduler as well as on the main page of this website.
