The facility provides proteome-analysis, including protein identification, the identification of protein post-translational modifications, peptide de novo sequencing, protein quantitation and metabolite identification.


Qstar XL LC/MS/MS System

The ABI Qstar XL Hybrid LC/MS/MS system is a quadrupole time-of-flight system with high sensitivity and excellent mass accuracy. It is equipped with a NanoSpray ion source, an IonSpray ion sourse and an APCI heated neubulizer ion source. There is an oMALDI 2 ion source available and a ProBot fraction collector allowing automated MALDI plate spotting from the nanoLC.

Available data processing software includes BioAnalyst, ProID, Pro ICAT, Pro BLAST, Pro QUANT, Metabolite ID and MASCOT and there is a fast MASCOT database server on site.

DIONEX UltiMate 3000 Nano and Capillary LC System

A DIONEX UltiMate 3000 LC separation system is interfaced with the QSTAR XL. The combination enables LC-MS, LC-MS/MS and LC/LC-MS/MS analysis of complex protein mixtures.

If you wish to submit a sample to the facility, please fill out a sample submission form (Fillable PDF formate) and bring it in with your sample. Any handling precautions and special safety concerns for your sample should be indicated on the sample submission form.

Proper sample preparation is extremely important for a mass spectrometry analysis.
